Knee Pain & Injuries
From ACL tears to runner's knee — we get you back on your feet faster.
Knee injuries are one of the most common reasons people visit APEX. Whether you're dealing with an ACL tear, meniscus damage, patellofemoral pain (runner's knee), our physios use objective assessment and data-driven rehabilitation to create a targeted recovery plan specific to you.
We don't just treat the symptom — we identify the root cause and build a progressive programme to get you back to full strength, safely and confidently.

Also known as jumper's knee, this is an overuse injury causing pain at the base of the kneecap. Common in athletes who jump or sprint repeatedly. Load management and progressive strengthening are key to recovery.
-
A common overuse injury in runners causing pain on the outer side of the knee. Caused by tightness and weakness in the hip and glute muscles. Responds well to soft tissue treatment and corrective exercise.
-
A common cause of knee pain in young, active athletes, particularly during growth spurts. It causes pain and swelling just below the kneecap where the patellar tendon attaches to the shinbone. Often aggravated by running, jumping and squatting. With the right load management and strengthening programme, most young athletes can continue to stay active while symptoms settle.Item description

The meniscus acts as a shock absorber in the knee. Tears can occur from twisting movements or gradual wear and tear. Symptoms include pain, swelling and difficulty straightening the knee fully. Rehab focuses on reducing pain and restoring full function.
Shoulder Pain
Regain full strength and movement — whatever the cause.
The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the body, which also makes it one of the most vulnerable to injury. Whether you're an overhead athlete, a gym-goer, or someone who's woken up with unexplained shoulder pain, our physios will identify the exact cause and build a targeted rehab plan to restore full function. We use a combination of hands-on treatment and progressive strengthening to get you back to full capacity.

Foot and Ankle Injuries
Foot and ankle injuries are among the most common complaints we see at APEX, affecting athletes and active individuals of all levels. Whether you're dealing with a sudden sprain, a persistent tendon problem, or chronic pain that's been limiting your training for months, our physios carry out a thorough assessment to identify the root cause and build a targeted rehabilitation plan around your specific goals.
What sets APEX apart is our use of cutting-edge technology to objectively measure your recovery. Our force plates allow us to assess how load is being distributed through your foot and ankle during movement — identifying asymmetries and compensations that the naked eye simply can't detect. Our ForceFrame system measures the strength of the muscles supporting the ankle, giving us precise data to guide your rehabilitation and track your progress at every stage.
This means your rehab isn't based on guesswork — it's driven by data, progressed at the right pace, and designed to not only get you back to full activity, but to reduce the risk of re-injury when you return.
Lower Back Pain
Sciatica
Pain, tingling or numbness that radiates from the lower back down through the buttock and into the leg. Caused by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve. With the right assessment and targeted rehab, most cases resolve well without the need for surgery.
Disc Bulge/Herniation
Can cause sharp or aching back pain, often with referred pain into the legs. Our approach focuses on reducing symptoms quickly and building the strength needed for long-term recovery.
Lower Back Sports Injuries
From muscle strains to stress fractures, sports-related lower back injuries require a careful, load-managed approach to rehab. We assess the root cause of your injury and build a progressive return-to-sport programme tailored to your specific demands.
Facet Joint Pain
The facet joints link the vertebrae of the spine and can become inflamed or irritated through poor posture, overuse or degeneration. Symptoms include localised back pain and stiffness, often worse with extension movements. Manual therapy combined with targeted exercise is highly effective in managing this condition.
